‘Bystander’ to go to Germany

‘Bystander’ is to attend the Dresden Int'l Film Festival in Germany.

‘Bystander’ has been scheduled to attend the 31st Dresden International Film Festival in Germany.

Directed by Mohsen Bagheri Dastgerdi, the Iranian short will be present at the Open Air section of the German film event.

The film describes a society that doesn’t accept the differences; and is seeking to destroy them.

Mohsen Baqeri who along with Loqman Qasemi has been in charge of the film production has explained that ‘Bystander’ is the story of people’s greed and their totalitarian ideas. He goes on to say the film shows how all humans are doomed to forget their differences and become alike. Even if there is a voice against the whole will be shut.

Baqeri also mentions that the film emphasizes the individuality in all aspects.

The film has so far attended several international events such as the 9th TOFUZI Festival in Georgia and received the Diploma Bravery award. It also gained the Grand Prix award at the 2nd Open Air Short Film Festival in Belarus.

The latest edition of the Dresden International Film Festival is slated for April 9-14, 2019.
